New Chadian initiative to establish peace in Darfour

The Wali ( governor ) of north Darfour estate of Sudan, Muhammad Othman Kabar, unveiled that there is a new initiative from Chad in order to establish peace in the Sudanese area, expressing the Sudanese government support for this initiative.
In a statement to the Sudanese daily Akhbar al-Youm issued yesterday, Kabar explained that the details of the new initiatives will be declared by President of Chad, Idris Deibi, in the appropriate timing. He expressed the confidence entrusted by the Sudanese government in the President of Chad because of his knowledge in the complete conditions in Darfour and his effect on this case.
He added that security conditions in Darfour are under full control, noting the collapse of rebels before the government`s armed forces, and the destruction of their positions and camps.
Meantime, the Sudanese minister of Cabinet affairs, Abdullah Ali Safi al-Nour, expressed his hope that those who carry weapons in Darfour will respond to the general pardoning announced recently, stressing that military option is not the proper solution.
In a similar statement to the paper, Safi al-Nour said that the efforts of President of Chad meet acceptance from the state because of its confidence in his care to maintain the stability of conditions in Darfour. |
